Dozens of Birdwatchers from all over Ontario flocked to Brampton today to catch a glimpse of a bird which had only been seen once before in the province. The Phainopepla, a sleek, black bird resembling a Cardinal is usually found in the arid southwest, mainly Arizona and California. Homeowners on Addington and Aberdeen crescents have been accommodating to the droves of binocular-toting birders. The bird is so rare in these parts that if the bird persists until the weekend, birdwatchers from all over the Midwest will be making their way over to catch a glimpse.
