Dozens of Birdwatchers from all over Ontario flocked to Brampton today to catch a glimpse of a bird which had only been seen once before in the province. The Phainopepla, a sleek, black bird resembling a Cardinal is usually found in the arid southwest, mainly Arizona and California. Homeowners on Addington and Aberdeen crescents have been accommodating to the droves of binocular-toting birders. The bird is so rare in these parts that if the bird persists until the weekend, birdwatchers from all over the Midwest will be making their way over to catch a glimpse.

This happened at around 2 p.m. at Main and Elgin Street in Brampton. Woman hit the man or woman (as shown on the ground) who I believe was crossing with his/her little kids in the strollers. Police and paramedics are on the scene. This view was taken from my condo as I was just looking out my window. (MyBreakingNews/Robynne Escano)
